Laurent joined Sopartec in 2008 as legal counsel in the technology transfer activities of UCLouvain (through its participation in the Louvain Technology Transfer Office) and to provide legal support to the investment activities of the VIVES funds as well as to their investee companies.
Over the last 20 years, Laurent has actively accompanied and/or managed multiple transactions in various sectors (technology transfers, limited to large investment rounds, company inceptions, trade sales, MBOs, M&A deals and IPO preparation, etc.).
Before joining Sopartec, Laurent began his career as a legal counsel in 2002, working for a biotech company active in the development of new cancer drugs where he was in charge of the management of the legal aspects of the activities of the company (R&D, partnership, licensing, IP management, corporate affairs).
Laurent holds a Master in Law from UCLouvain and a Master in Intellectual Property Rights from Katholieke Universiteiten van Bussel en Leuven. Laurent is a Company Lawyer (www.ije.be), is member of LES Benelux and is completing a training in mediation in civil and commercial matters.
